Low-performing elementary and middle schools face a critical challenge: students falling behind academic standards need rapid intervention while maintaining motivation and comprehension. Whiteboard partnered with Spark to reimagine how their platform could increase pacing for kindergarten through fifth-grade students. Through month-long school immersion, we interviewed students, teachers, and administrators while observing classrooms firsthand. We built a mock classroom to test hypotheses and iterate on ideas directly with educators and students. This deep engagement revealed opportunities to extend learning beyond classroom walls, transforming education from isolated events into continuous journeys. The result was a vision for Spark as a tool that nudges students toward ongoing learning throughout their day, fundamentally changing how they engage with education.
