TED sees a world where big ideas spread.

Scaling ideas worth spreading

5 Feb 2025

TED's mission to spread ideas worth sharing was constrained by a fundamental problem: their digital infrastructure couldn't scale with their ambitions. Across conferences, climate initiatives, innovation programs, and funding platforms, disconnected websites were limiting their impact. They needed more than better websites. They needed a digital partner who could transform how a nonprofit scales global movements. Our partnership with TED became a multi-year journey to prove that when technology serves mission rather than constraining it, organizations can achieve exponential rather than incremental growth.

The Audacious Project

Big ideas for the world’s most urgent challenges.

The Audacious Project represented everything TED believed about change: big ideas backed by serious funding could solve humanity's greatest challenges. But their digital presence undermined this boldness. Despite catalyzing billions in funding, the platform couldn't effectively connect world-changing ideas with the philanthropists who could fund them or the innovators who could propose them.

Working closely with their team, we recognized the deeper opportunity. This wasn't about improving user experience.
It was about transforming how philanthropic capital flows to transformative ideas. We architected a platform that positions The Audacious Project as the definitive space where bold thinking meets bold funding. The results validated the strategy: $3.1B catalyzed across 39 projects, with over 40 million TED Talk views amplifying their impact. The platform didn't just serve its audiences better. It fundamentally changed how major donors discover and evaluate world-changing initiatives.

TED Conferences

Where curiosity meets community.

TED Conferences faced a paradox familiar to any organization running multiple events: standardization kills creativity, but customization doesn't scale. Every conference needed to express its unique identity while maintaining TED's brand promise. More critically, the development bottleneck was limiting how many transformative events TED could produce.

Partnering with their team, we reframed the challenge. This wasn't about making websites easier to build.
It was about unleashing TED's ability to create more powerful experiences. We built systems that gave conference teams complete creative control while eliminating technical dependencies. The result transformed their business model. With a 20% conversion rate that defied industry standards, TED proved that operational efficiency directly drives revenue growth. The platform became so powerful that their membership team adopted it for campaign testing, turning marketing from a cost center into a growth engine.

TED Countdown

Championing and accelerating solutions to the climate crisis.

Climate change demanded more from TED than another initiative. It required building a movement that could operate at the speed and scale of the crisis itself. TED Countdown needed digital infrastructure that could unite disparate voices, coordinate global action, and evolve as quickly as climate science itself.

Together with their team, we built more than a content platform. We created organizing infrastructure for the climate movement. The system allows TED to spotlight emerging solutions, coordinate worldwide events, and connect audiences to action regardless of their entry point. Whether visitors arrive through technology, justice, or policy concerns, they find pathways to meaningful engagement. The platform proves that movements succeed when they meet people where they are rather than forcing them into predetermined categories.

TED Fellows

The founders of a better future.

For fifteen years, TED Fellows had been changing the world in isolation. Their innovations were scattered across disciplines and continents, their collective impact invisible. The Fellows program didn't need a directory. It needed to demonstrate what happens when you invest strategically in human potential.

Working with program leadership, we built a platform that transforms individual achievements into collective proof of concept.
The system surfaces unexpected connections between Fellows working across disciplines, revealing innovation patterns that would otherwise remain hidden. Established changemakers and emerging voices receive equal celebration, demonstrating that transformative thinking happens at every stage of the journey. The platform doesn't just showcase Fellows. It makes the case for why investing in individual innovators creates exponential returns for society.
