Comprehensive identity design for Chattanooga's first official marathon celebrating the scenic city's outdoor athletic heritage

Whiteboard partnered with the Chattanooga Sports Committee and race organizers to create the comprehensive brand identity for Chattanooga's inaugural marathon. Building on the city's reputation as a scenic destination popular with outdoor athletes—and following successful bids to host Iron Man and Half Iron Man races—the community was ready for their own signature marathon event. Whiteboard worked closely with over 20 organizers to develop a complete identity system that captured the unique character of this new race, designed with a course unlike any other marathon in the city. The brand identity celebrated Chattanooga's natural beauty and athletic culture while establishing the race as a distinctive addition to the national marathon calendar. The comprehensive design system included logo development, promotional materials, and visual standards that positioned the March 4-6, 2016 inaugural event as a must-run destination race. Through strategic collaboration and thoughtful design, Whiteboard helped establish what would become an annual celebration of Chattanooga's outdoor athletic community.
