Rebranding Venture Capital in the Southeast United States

Chattanooga Renaissance Fund (CRF) invests in seed and early-stage companies that display great habits and solid growth potential. The fund needed a complete rebrand and new website to better communicate their role as strategic partners to entrepreneurs in the Southeast United States.
Whiteboard partnered with Chattanooga Renaissance Fund to transform how venture capital is presented in the Southeast. Our challenge was to create an identity that felt approachable yet professional for entrepreneurs seeking funding and mentorship.
The project began with extensive interviews and research that revealed not only CRF's influence but the rich entrepreneurial history of Chattanooga. We discovered a city poised for growth, connected by cutting-edge infrastructure including EPB's citywide gigabit fiber network and UTC's Simulation Center.
Our team developed a comprehensive brand identity featuring the tagline "A Bridge Forward" connecting entrepreneurship to how bridges have become central to Chattanooga's identity, linking communities across the river-divided metropolitan area. The website showcases CRF's diverse investment culture through an engaging portfolio experience that illuminates organizational society, company leaders, and mentor relationships.
We aimed to marry strong identity with clear communication, finding the right photography and moments that inspired communication to prospective entrepreneurs, mentors, and partnership opportunities. The result was a sophisticated yet accessible brand that positions CRF as both corporate and engaging.
