Comprehensive multi-year design partnership supporting quarterly urban design education events and community engagement

Whiteboard has maintained a comprehensive design partnership with Chattanooga Design Studio since 2019, supporting their CIVIQ quarterly event series that introduces and humanizes national and international urban design movements. Each free public event showcases visionary work from practitioners in other cities, making complex urban design concepts accessible to the broader community while inspiring, informing, and activating attendees. Working within an established poster grid structure originally created by designers Ben Dicks and Mark Walter, Whiteboard has developed individual poster concepts inspired by each event's speakers and topics, embracing creative flexibility within structural consistency. The ongoing collaboration demonstrates Whiteboard's commitment to community-focused design education, helping establish CIVIQ as a cornerstone program that promotes excellence in urban design through education, facilitation, and collaboration. The design approach balances systematic brand recognition with creative expression—using only signature colors and grid systems as unifying elements while allowing each poster to reflect the unique vision and personality of featured speakers. Through sustained creative collaboration, Whiteboard has helped Chattanooga residents engage more thoughtfully with urban planning challenges and opportunities.
