Compassion International needed to transform their established bi-annual print publication into a modern digital magazine experience. As the world's leading authority in holistic child development through sponsorship, they required a platform that could handle diverse content types while maintaining their trusted brand integrity.
Whiteboard partnered with Compassion International to transform their bi-annual print publication into a cutting-edge digital magazine experience. Our challenge was creating a forward-thinking online platform that would serve their community of over 700,000 donors while maintaining the established brand integrity they had built over decades.
The project required careful navigation of an established brand framework to create something entirely new. Our team spent two intensive days at Compassion's Colorado Springs headquarters, working closely with their design team to understand the magnitude and reach of the organization's global impact.
We developed a robust content management system with 15+ flexible content sections, enabling the Compassion team to create diverse article formats from photo-journals and essays to long-form articles and social testimonials. The result was a sophisticated digital experience that positioned Compassion Magazine as an industry standard for online publications while maintaining their authentic voice and mission.
Our approach focused on leveraging Compassion's exceptional photography as the central hub, building around it with carefully considered typography, gradients, and spatial relationships that created an immersive reading environment worthy of their global mission.
