The Journey to Un-Untouchable

Collaboration with Caleb Ludwick of 26 Tools

Dalit Freedom Network was created to answer the call to end the oppression of India's 250 million Dalit "untouchables" who are shackled and degraded by a modern-day caste system. They needed a web experience that could marry their new communication strategy with their brand to effectively reach donors and advocates.
Whiteboard partnered with Dalit Freedom Network to create a powerful digital presence that would amplify their mission to end the oppression of India's 250 million Dalit people. Born from a pivotal pilgrimage to New Delhi in 2001, DFN needed a web experience that could effectively communicate their vision and provide clear pathways for involvement.
Our challenge was translating the urgency and importance of this human rights mission into a compelling digital experience. Working in collaboration with Caleb Ludwick of 26 Tools and the Widgets & Stone team, we developed a comprehensive strategy that addressed brand awareness, donor development, and messaging clarity.
The result was a scalable solution that integrated DFN's new messaging strategy with their updated logo, creating a unique platform for storytelling that honors the dignity of the Dalit people while inspiring action. We built a system that empowers their team to create campaigns, share updates, and tell individual stories with the impact they deserve.
Throughout the project, our guiding principle was clear: change won't occur without action. We crafted every element to support DFN's mission of achieving fundamental rights through education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
