Restaurant and brewery identity for experienced hospitality entrepreneurs creating neighborhood gathering spot

When brothers Rob and Clay Gentry opened Hello Monty in late 2021, they brought decades of Chattanooga brewing and restaurant expertise to the Southside neighborhood. Rob's impressive background includes founding The Blue Plate, ROBAR, and co-founding Big River Grille & Brewing Works, the city's first commercial brewery post-Prohibition. Clay has managed brewing operations for Big River restaurants nationwide since the 1990s and holds the distinction of being Chattanooga's longest-serving professional brewer. Whiteboard has enjoyed a long-standing creative partnership with Rob across multiple ventures, having collaborated on identities for The Blue Plate, Local 191, Localito 191, and ROBAR. With Hello Monty, we were excited to help create a true neighborhood gathering spot serving exceptional food alongside really, really good beer. Both the restaurant and brewery identities draw inspiration from classic neighborhood establishments, creating an authentic, welcoming atmosphere. The names Hello Monty and Dynamo Brewing honor B. 'Rush' Montgomery, one of Chattanooga's earliest visionaries who declared in the late 1800s that the city would become the 'funnel of the universe.' The restaurant sits on Main Street, originally named Montgomery Avenue in his honor, making this historical connection particularly meaningful for the neighborhood establishment.
