New name, big ambitions, same bold vision to elevate all humans facing injustice.

Mighty Ally
Originally founded as the African Prisons Project, Justice Defenders found a simple solution to a complex problem. Whiteboard joined to help amplify that effort.
We partnered with Justice Defenders, a UK charity and U.S. nonprofit with nearly 350 people working across four African countries, to amplify their mission of equipping defenseless communities with legal training. Working closely with founder Alexander McLean and identity collaborator Mighty Ally across multiple time zones, we recognized their innovative approach where people who experienced conflict with the system help shape and improve it. Through strategic collaboration, we designed and built a digital landscape that matched Justice Defenders' drive with the right tools and brand narrative. The result empowered their expanded mission under a new name, leading to extraordinary outcomes: a feature on CBS News 60 Minutes with Anderson Cooper, 1000% more website donors, and 2100% more online income in the first year, demonstrating the power of combining compelling storytelling with purposeful design.
