Dynamic visual system for Chattanooga's “City in a Park” visibility initiative
When Chattanooga Parks & Outdoors needed to promote the city's remarkable integration of built and natural spaces, they approached Whiteboard to create a visibility initiative that would showcase their unique positioning. The challenge was communicating Chattanooga's extraordinary access to beautiful parks and outdoor resources while stimulating public engagement with these offerings. “City in a Park” became the central theme – capturing how Chattanooga boasts unrivaled accessibility to some of Tennessee's most beautiful parks and exciting outdoor resources. Working closely with consultants and the Parks & Outdoors Department, designer Mark Walter developed a dynamic and flexible design system that could adapt across multiple touchpoints. The campaign highlighted the impressive educational, recreational, and cultural resources available to Chattanoogans while celebrating the staggering volume of beautiful natural spaces integrated throughout the city. The visual system successfully communicated this unique urban-natural harmony that makes Chattanooga truly a city in a park.
