Logo evolution enabling restaurant expansion while preserving brand authenticity

When the Monen Family Restaurant Group founded Clyde's in the original Clyde's Auto Shop building, their goal was simple: create a great local restaurant and bar. Success exceeded expectations, inspiring plans to expand the concept to other cities, including Nashville. However, expansion revealed a significant challenge – potential confusion with the well-established Clyde's Restaurant Group on the east coast. The solution was rebranding as Hi-Fi Clyde's. Since Whiteboard had created the original Clyde's flexible brand system based on existing auto shop signage, we were naturally positioned to evolve the identity. The challenge was updating the logo while maintaining the authentic brand personality that made Clyde's special. Our approach preserved all the elements that resonated with customers while seamlessly integrating the "Hi-Fi" component. The updated identity maintained the same approachable, authentic feel that made Hi-Fi Clyde's a local favorite, ensuring that expansion wouldn't compromise the brand character that drove their original success.
