Menu design, signage, and logo refinement celebrating culinary craftsmanship
Whiteboard partnered with Chef Daniel Lindley to thoughtfully refresh the beloved St. John's Restaurant brand, one of Chattanooga's most cherished culinary institutions housed in the historic St. John's Hotel Building. This classic establishment needed brand updates that would honor its heritage while reflecting the exceptional craftsmanship and character that defines both the restaurant and its cuisine. Our approach built upon the established logo foundation, developing new variations that drew out the artisanal qualities and attention to detail that make St. John's special. Working with illustrator David Webb, we created refined artwork that captured the restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence, with letterpress printing by Terry Chouinard adding tactile authenticity that matched the restaurant's dedication to craft. The refreshed typography added subtlety and depth while maintaining the classic elegance diners expect. Beyond visual updates, we developed new menu designs and subtle signage that enhanced the restaurant's sophisticated atmosphere within the historic hotel building. Every element reinforced St. John's position as a destination where culinary artistry meets timeless hospitality.
