Artisan ceramics brand identity celebrating contemplative morning rituals and mindful moments
Uma Ceramics creates unique wheel-thrown mugs designed for morning reflection and mindful moments when you need to slow down and give yourself pause. The brand's founder, Mapi Ormachea, sought an identity that would authentically reflect both the handcrafted nature of the ceramics and the contemplative experience they're meant to facilitate. Whiteboard's designers Travis Hitchcock and Design Director Liz Tapp worked closely with Mapi to develop a brand approach that honors the meditative quality of the pottery-making process and the reflective moments the vessels are meant to encourage. The identity features a neutral, tranquil, subtly feminine textural pattern and palette that conveys serenity and craftsmanship. This softer approach is balanced with a bolder logo and distinctive 'potter's mark' that establishes clear brand recognition. Every element of the brand system—from packaging to digital presence—is designed to relay the reflection and contemplation that Uma hopes to encourage with each handcrafted vessel.
